Deposit security fee
3.5% of deposit · min $2 · max $25Covers the secure management of your refundable deposit via Stripe. Refunded if the rental is cancelled before the deposit is charged.
Taxes
GST + PST/QST (by province)Applicable taxes vary by the owner's province. For Quebec: GST 5% + QST 9.975% applied on the subtotal.

The deposit is fully refunded to your payment method. The return delay depends on Stripe's processing and your bank — allow 5 to 10 business days, sometimes longer depending on your institution.
⚠️ Incident reported
The owner reports the incident on the platform. Toolsy opens a case and arbitrates the partial or full refund.
What do you pay as an owner?
The service fee (20%) is charged to the renter. The owner receives 100% of the rate they set.
